Sun Devils

Whoa. The number 1 Arizona State Sun Devils socked it to their in-state rivals, the Arizona Wildcats, 8-1. I knew Katie Burkhart was a dominant pitcher, 12 k's, 3 hits, 0 earned runs. I didn't think the Sun Devils would be able to hit homers off Taryne Mowatt. For ASU's offense, Kaitlin Cochran has unbelievable stats. She batted .492 last year as a sophomore and hit 18 home runs. She's an extremely tough at-bat. Batting clean-up for the Sun Devils is freshman phenom, Krista Donnenwirth. She's the Pac-10 rbi leader. Senior second baseman, Mindy Cowles hit two solo home runs, giving her 10 hrs on the season.

I really like both teams and would have loved to have seen last year's national champ playing this season's #1.

Arizona State plays Washington on Saturday. The game will be televised on Fox Sports at 7pm pt.
